Improved User Experience
StudioPlus 2010 enhancements focus on improving the day to day user experience while using the software. Many of the common screens that are used day in and day out to manage your business have been redesigned from the ground-up, incorporating many suggestions offered by current StudioPlus users. In addition, with the new technologies used to build these new screens, future enhancements will be even easier to make, so keep your suggestions coming.
General: Some of the general enhancements that you’ll see throughout the application include the following.
The size of many of the information screens has been increased, making it easier to view the information you need at a quick glance. The screens can also be resized and maximized.
The toolbars on many of the information screens have been replaced with Ribbons, which have been made popular with newer applications like Microsoft Office 2007.
Information screens now have Next and Previous buttons added, making it easier to advance to the next record on the list you are viewing.
Many combo boxes now include “auto-suggest” functionality like a Google search does. You simply type in the first couple characters and the combo box will start to fill in the rest for you.
Many information screens now include new custom fields that can be used for additional information that you would like StudioPlus to track for you. You can label these fields for consistent data entry. See the new Custom Labels maintenance form in the Maintenance>List Maintenance menu to set the names for these custom labels.
Spell check as you type is a great new feature for all the notes fields in StudioPlus. Red squiggly lines automatically show under misspelled words. Right-click on a misspelled word for suggestions to correct.
New Client Screen: The client information screen has been completely redesigned. In addition to the general enhancements listed above, here are some additional enhancements.
A new Online Tab has been added with additional MyStudioPlus.com and HoldMyMemories.com tracking information.
New Copy To Clipboard features have been added allowing you copy the client account info or client mailing address to the clipboard so it can be pasted into other applications.
If you have a TAPI-compliant phone system connected to your PC, you can now dial a customer’s phone number with a single click. (Google “tapi compliant phone” for more info.)
The Phone Calls tab has been renamed “Communication”. The Communication tab now gives you the ability to track calls, letters, and email correspondents. When you record a call, print a letter, or send an email, an entry will automatically be added to the Communications tab.
The Summary tab now includes more referral information, so you can now see a list of the clients that have been referred to you by this client.
New Session Screen: The Session information screen has been completely redesigned. In addition to the general enhancements listed above, here are some additional enhancements.

You now have the ability to create a new Bill-to Client on the fly in case the client you need is not already in the system.
You can now email the invoice and the image detail sheet to the client at the same time.
A new Invoice Description field has been added allowing you to enter some descriptive text that helps identify the purpose of this invoice. This field will be very useful when viewing a list of invoices for a client. An example might be “Grandparents order”.
A New Invoice Classification combo box has been added. You are free to use this combo box for whatever purposes you desire. An example might be to record the invoice type, like “Print Order, Album Order, Framing Order, etc.” or maybe you’ll want to use this field for reporting purposes.
New Phone Calls Screen: The Phone Call information screen has been completely redesigned. In addition to the general enhancements listed above, here are some additional enhancements.
New fields have been added to the Phone Call screen giving you more tracking capabilities which include Priority, Contact (who was the person you talked with), and Direction (was this an incoming or outgoing communication).
New Payment Screen: The Payment information screen has been completely redesigned.
New Appointment Screen: The Appointment information screen has been completely redesigned.
New Email Screen: The Email information screen has been completely redesigned. From the Communications tab of the Client or Session screen, you can now double-click on a sent email and review it to see the contents of what you sent to your client. You can also click a new “Completed Email” button on many of the Ribbons to record an important incoming email that you received from a client.
New Letter Screen: A new Letter Screen has been created. From the Communications tab of the Client or Session screen, you can now double-click on a Letter to view the contents of the letter that you sent to your client. These entries are automatically created when you print an individual letter to a client.
New Wizards: All the informational wizards in StudioPlus, including the Scheduling Wizard, have been completely redesigned to incorporate all the new features throughout the application.
Browse Screen Filtering: The “Filter The Data” feature on the Browse Screens has been enhanced. New Office 2007 style filtering has been incorporated.
New Customer Experience Improvement Program: The new CEIP will allow us to collect valuable data regarding your usage of StudioPlus, including error information and the feature sets that you use the most. This data will be used to more rapidly fix bugs in the software and better improve the software in future updates. This program is completely voluntary, and no personal information about you, your business, or your clients will be transmitted to us.
New Registration Process: The registration process has been greatly improved. The StudioPlus software will now have the ability to automatically download and register your new AMP codes as they are issued.
New Integration
New HoldMyMemories.com Integration: StudioPlus
now integrates with an exciting new product called HoldMyMemories.com.
First of
all, HMM‘s primary
purpose is a client retention tool, to help keep your clients coming back
to your studio. Secondly,
HMM leverages the power of social networking and an iPhone app to increase
your brand awareness. Thirdly,
HMM provides you with a recurring revenue stream, while not costing you

New Digital Imaging Enhancements
New Ability to Render Composites to Layered PSD Files: StudioPlus can now render out your composites to Layered PSD files, allowing you to open the PSD in Photoshop for additional editing.
New Incremental Image Rotation: You can rotate individual images within a composite at one degree increments.
New Custom Crop Ratios: You can now add your own custom crop ratios to the Cropping tool in the Digital Workflow.
New Ability to Drag an Image from One Zone to Another: You can now drag an image from one drop zone directly to another while you are building your composite.
New Ability to Copy an Image: You can now copy an image so that you can show your client a single image with different colorizations or crops side by side.
New Ability to Maintain Image Selection While Switching Templates: Now, when you switch between different Composite Templates, StudioPlus will maintain your image selections.
New Raw File Support: StudioPlus now includes additional support for the newest RAW file formats, including the Cannon CR2 file.
