The Scheduling Wizard is a built-in tool designed to walk you through the booking process — from finding or creating a client, to scheduling the session or appointment, to creating an invoice and accepting a payment. To schedule a new appointment or session using the Scheduling Wizard, go to the Calendar hub and double-click on a time slot (or use Ctrl+P).* Problems viewing the video in your browser? You can customize the wizard for your studio by using the Wizard Builder tool. You may want to eliminate or add pages to the wizard, change what the message says on each page, or adjust other options. Go to Tools > Design Tools > Wizard Builder.
As you enter information, the software will automatically capitalize the first letter and use lowercase for the rest of the letters. For example, if you type “sara johnson,” the software will change it to “Sara Johnson” when you tab to the next field. If you don’t want the capitalization changed, press the F3 key instead of the tab key when switching fields. For example, if you don’t want “John McDonald” changed to “John Mcdonald,” use the F3 key to move to the next field.
Refer to the following topics for specific instructions on using the Scheduling Wizard, depending on the type of appointment or session you are scheduling: Help! Should I create an appointment or session?
There are some very important terms
to remember when using the software. Memorize the following definitions:
Session – Any time you will be actually TAKING photos of (or for) a client. A session always involves the camera.
Appointment – Anything else placed on the calendar, such as a wedding consultation, staff meeting, etc.
- LinkedAppointment – Any type of appointment that involves a client, such as a wedding consultation.
- UnlinkedAppointment – Any appointment that DOESN’T involve a client, such as a staff meeting.
